: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation made in-person on 14.10.2021, 22.01.2025 and through registered post on 17.04.2025 to change the classification of land and issue patta in her name to the subject property measuring an extent of 1875 sq.ft situated in survey No.149/11 at Poolangudi Village, Thiruverambur Taluk, Trichy District, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

I have heard Mr.I.Velpradeep, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to pass orders on the petitioner's representations dated 14.10.2021 and 22.01.2025 to change the classification of the land from Tharisu to patta lands and consequently, issue patta in favour of the petitioner to an extent of 1875 sq.ft situated in survey No.149/11, Poolangudi Village, Thiruverambur Taluk, Trichy District.
3. Since the petitioner seeks reclassification of the lands, the first respondent shall be the competent authority to pass order for reclassification. The petitioner has to mark a copy of the representation dated 17.04.2025 to the first respondent District Collector as well. 2/5
4. In view of the above, the first respondent shall conduct due enquiry, after affording an opportunity to the petitioner and shall pass orders on the petitioner's request for reclassification subject to the reclassification request being upheld by the first respondent. The fourth respondent shall consequently issue patta in the name of the petitioner. The District Collector shall consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
