O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent i.e., the Agricultural Production Commissioner & Principal Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department, Chennai, to pass appropriate orders on the disciplinary action initiated against the petitioner in Government in letter No.10462/AA2/2000-18, dated 15.07.2002, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard, Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondent is directed to pass final orders on the disciplinary action initiated against the petitioner vide Charge Memo, dated 15.07.2002, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
