Respondents PRAYER:Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 2 to 4 to renew the mining lease for further period of five years granted in respect of the quarry situated in pula No.92/1B measuring about 2.21.0 hectares situated at Sillaraipuravu village, Tenkasi Taluk formerly Tirunelveli District presently Tenkasi District in the light of the recommendation of the 5th respondent in his proceedings dated 07.01.2019 based on the petitioner's renewal application dated 12.10.2018 within a time frame.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner was granted mining lease for a period of five years. The period has since expired. The petitioner had given an application for renewal. 3.Therefore, the third respondent is directed to pass orders on the petition mentioned application on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. It is for the third respondent to pass order one way or the other. No costs.
