This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to pay compensation for the death of his mother, by considering his representation dated 29.06.2016.
2. The case of the petitioner is that his mother, M.Malar, died on 31.05.2015 due to snake bite and a complaint was also lodged in Crime No.300 of 2015 before Oomatchikulam Police Station. In this regard, the petitioner's family submitted a representation dated 29.06.2016 before the authorities seeking compensation and as the same is kept pending, without any action, the present petition came to be filed.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that the authorities are inclined to pass orders on the
representation of the petitioner, on merits, within a stipulated time limit.
4. Heard both sides.
5. Under such circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.06.2016 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
