ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's application, dated 06.01.2020 for registration as Class-1 Contractor with the Public Works Department at once in accordance with law .

2.Heard Mr.P.Ganapathi Subramanian, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.Ramesh, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.By consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 4.It is the case of the petitioner that he is a Building Contractor and he applied with the first respondent on 06.01.2020 along with the required documents for the purpose of being recognized as Class-1 Contractor with the respondents. He had also sent reminders on 11.02.2020 and 14.09.2020 requesting the 1/3

respondents to consider his application, dated 06.01.2020. According to the petitioner, till date, the respondents have not considered the application, dated 06.01.2020 seeking to recognize him as Class-1 Contractor with the respondents. It is also the case of the petitioner that, the respondents should have considered the application within 30 days. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court with the aforesaid prayer. 5.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the application of the petitioner would be considered on merits within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

6.Considering the prayer sought for in the writ petition, which is innocuous in nature, this Court directs the respondents to consider the application, dated 06.01.2020 submitted by the petitioner for being recognized as Class-1 Contractor and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
