This case came up for settlement before the Lok Adalat. Both the parties present. The counsel for the appellant Mr.S.Micheal Heldon Kumar and the counsel for the first respondent Mr.W.Cleetus are present. After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties and with the assistance of the Bench, both sides consented for settlement. COMMON AWARD The first respondent (minor) and his guardian / grand father are present and their Aadhar Cards are verified. Mr.Palanikumar, learned counsel for the first respondent (minor) before the trial Court is present.

2. After due deliberations, both the parties have entered into compromise and agreed for a settlement for a sum of (i) Rs.25,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs only), in full quit, in 1/3

M.C.O.P.No.864 of 2019, (ii) Rs.27,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Seven Lakhs only), in full quit, in M.C.O.P.No.865 of 2019 (iii) Rs.4,50,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only), in full quit, in M.C.O.P.No.866 of 2019 and (iv) Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs only), in full quit, in M.C.O.P.No.867 of 2019.

3. The appellant Transport Corporation has agreed to deposit the total amount of Rs. 58,50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Eight Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only) before the Tribunal in M.C.O.P.Nos.864 to 867 of 2019 respectively, less the amount already deposited if any, within a period of three months from today, failing which, the appellant Transport Corporation is directed to pay 7.5% interest to the award amount, from the date of claim petitions till the date of realisation. The Tribunal is directed to deposit the entire award amount in any one of the nationalized banks (Indian Overseas Bank, Rayagiri, Tirunelveli), in any interest bearing account, till the first respondent (minor) attains majority.

The grand father / guardian of the first respondent (minor) is permitted to withdraw 50% of the accrued interest from the above said deposit, once in three months, directly from the Bank and utilize the same for the welfare/education of the child. The remaining 50% interest shall be re-deposited in the account, till the first respondent (minor) attains majority. in 1994.

The Original of the award shall be place in the court record and copy of the award, kept with High Court Legal Services Committee and one copy each is furnished to both parties free of cost.

In agreement of the above, both parties and their counsel have affixed their signatures/ thumb impressions in presence of the Lok Adalat Bench admitting the terms and today conditions and accordingly, the award is passed.
