O R D E R
This Writ petition is for issuing a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to 1 to 5 to grant permission with police protection to perform "Kodai Vizha" of "Sri Pathrakaliyamman Temple and Sri Karuppasamy Temple" at Kulathoor Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District, to be held from 11.07.2017 to 16.07.2017.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 and the learned counsel appearing for the sixth respondent.
3. It appears that there is some dispute with regard to the celebration of festival and that therefore, the petitioner has filed the Writ petition before this Court.
4. Pursuant to the notice issued by the fourth respondent/Thasildar, a Peace Committee Meeting was held in the office of the fourth respondent, on 23.06.2017, at 6.00 p.m. The Peace Committee Meeting was held by the petitioner and his men and the sixth respondent and his men. As per the resolution of the Peace Committee Meeting, both parties agreed for conducting the festival in a grand and peaceful manner. It was also agreed that both parties should co-operate with the same and there is no dispute between the parties, with regard to the celebration of the festival.
5. Hence, the resolution of the Peace Committee Meeting, dated 23.06.2017, is placed on record and this Writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to give permission with police protection to perform the "Kodai Vizha" of "Sri Pathrakaliyamman Temple and Sri Karuppasamy Temple" at Kulathoor Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District, scheduled to be held from 11.07.2017 to 16.07.2017, subject to any reasonable restrictions keeping in mind the public peace and law and order. No costs.
