O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents to accord permission to conduct cultural programme 'Adal Padal' and 'Musical Orchestra' on 18.05.2025 and 19.05.2024 in the Temple Festival of 'Arulmigu Sri Keeraikara Mariyamman Temple, Nanmai Tharuvar Kovil Street, Nethaji Road, Madurai, and to provide adequate police protection based on petitioner's representation dated 22.04.2025.

According to the petitioner, he is a resident of Nanmai Tharuvar Kovil Street, Jethaji Road, Madurai and the area people have decided to conduct the Temple Festival, namely, 'Arulmigu Sri Keeraikara Mariyamman Temple' and they have also decided to conduct cultural programme 'Adal Padal' and 'Musical Orchestra' on 18.05.2025 and 19.05.2024. Therefore, he sent the representation dated 22.04.2025 to the respondent police, but the same has not been considered. Hence this petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioner's representation Page No. 2 of 4

is under consideration with the second respondent and they will conduct enquiry and take appropriate action, in accordance with law within one week.

4. Recording the above said submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the petitioner's representation is pending with the second respondent, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.04.2025 and grant permission by imposing appropriate conditions within a period of one week. The cultural programme 'Adal Padal' has to be conducted without praising any community people and without any obscene acts.
