PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent i.e., the Additional Director of Survey & Land Records, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2017 regarding regularizing the period of suspension from 08.12.2000 to 05.08.2001 and the further period of dismissal from 23.04.2013 to 20.01.2016 as duty within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court. This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent i.e., the Additional Director of Survey & Land Records, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2017 regarding regularizing the period of suspension from 08.12.2000 to 05.08.2001 and the further period of dismissal from 23.04.2013 to 20.01.2016 as duty within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents.

Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.04.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
