Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.09.2020 seeking correction in the Computer Chitta and 'A' Register effecting inclusion of the petitioner's name in the Computer Chitta and 'A' register relating to the land in Survey No.29 of Pullambadi Village to an extent of hectare 1.31.00 ares corresponding to the patta No.2583 stands in the name of the petitioner. ORDER
The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition, seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.09.2020, seeking correction in the Computer Chitta and 'A' Register effecting inclusion of the petitioner's name in the Computer Chitta and 'A' register relating to the land in Survey No.29 of Pullambadi Village to an extent of hectare 1.31.00 ares corresponding to the patta No.2583 stands in the name of the petitioner.
2.By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3.Mr.M.Pandiyarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4.The petitioner belongs to an agricultural family and owns a land in Survey No.29 to an extent of hectare 1.31.0 ares in Pullambadi Village and the said land was given to his father by way 1/3
of settlement. After his demise, the patta was transferred to his mother namely, Sivapayee in Patta No.98. Thereafter, the mother of the petitioner has executed a settlement deed in favour of the petitioner and patta was also transferred in the name of the petitioner in Patta No.2583. The petitioner is paying all necessary taxes for the said land in Survey No.29.
5.The grievance of the petitioner is that before UDR in 'A' Register, the land is registered in the name of one Narayana Udayar and thereafter, now in 'A' Register, the said land is shown as 'Tharisu'. Now, it is mistakenly shown as "Arasu Poramboke Tharisu". With regard to this, the Village Administrative Officer, Lalgudi on 28.11.2018 has intimated the Revenue Inspector, Lalgudi. Thereafter, the petitioner has made several representations to the respondents. On 20.07.2018, the second respondent has directed the third respondent to conduct an enquiry and to submit a report. However, no action has been taken. Thereafter, the petitioner has made a representation on 01.09.2020. Since no efforts have been taken, the petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition, seeking aforesaid prayer.
6.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the second respondent on 25.09.2020 asked for details from the third respondent. If there are any errors as pointed out by the petitioner and communicated by the Village Administrative Officer to the Revenue Inspector, rectification will be carried out in the records as requested by the petitioner and the case of the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law.
7.Recording the submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this Court directs the third respondent to submit the report to the second respondent, within seven (7) working days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not done till date and on receipt of the same, necessary corrections in the computer records have to be carried out, within a period of one month thereafter. 8.With this direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
