Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection for conducting the Rekla Race (Bullock Cart Race) on 26.06.2017 at 06.00 am in the eve of Arul Mighu Sri Selvavinayagar, Sri Sidhi Vinayagar, Sri Yoka Muniswarar, Sri Poornakala, Sri Pushpakala, Sri Sametha Ayyanar, Sri Vazhavantha Amman, Sri Varatharaja Perumal, Sri Kaliamman, Sri Pampulamman, Sri Oorkavalan Kovil, Sri Karuppasamy Kovil "Varusaabiseka Thiruvizha" at Mudaliarputhukulam, Kamuthi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.06.2017.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting Rekla Race in the place mentioned therein, by way of issuing a Writ of Mandamus. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has advanced his argument on the basis of the averments made in the petition.

4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has contended to the effect that Rekla Race mentioned in the petition is not permissible under law. 5.Considering the contention putforth on the side of the respondents and also considering the fact that in a similar writ petition this Court has already rejected similar prayer, this Court feels that the relief sought in the Writ Petition cannot be granted and therefore the same deserves to be dismissed. 6.In fine, this Writ Petition is dismissed.
