This petition has been filed, seeking to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to give adequate police protection to the petitioner to complete the renovation work of the Arulmigu Balakattu Bhagathi Ammal Temple and Krishna Temple at Kajapettai Trichy and the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 28.10.2016.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that on account of dispute between two groups with regard to the renovation work of Arulmigu Balakattu Bhagathi Ammal Temple and Krishna Temple at Kajapettai Trichy, proceedings under Section 107 Cr.P.C. have been initiated by the Revenue authorities.

3. In view of the above, the prayer of the petitioner for granting Police protection for the renovation work cannot be granted in this writ petition. However, if there is any physical assault or threat to the life of the petitioner, the same shall be enquired into by the Police and appropriate action be taken in accordance with law.
