PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent shall recommend to the first respondent to include Mekkudi Village, Sengurichi, Manikandam Post and Trichy District in to the Gazette, which also eligible for conducting "Jallikattu" competition based on the recommendation forwarded by the fourth respondent vide Na.Ka.No.A6/6835/2024 dated 03.04.2025. (Order of the Court was made by J. NISHA BANU, J.) By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The prayer in this Writ Petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to recommend to the first respondent the inclusion of Mekkudi Village, Sengurichi, Manikandam Post, and Trichy District in the Gazette, thereby making it eligible for conducting the "Jallikattu" 2/6

competition, based on the recommendation forwarded by the fourth respondent vide Na.Ka.No.A6/6835/2024, dated 03.04.2025. 3.The petitioner submitted a representation to the first respondent on 24.04.2025 in this regard. As the said representation was not considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

4.The learned Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1, 2, and 4, and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the third respondent, submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be disposed of by the respondents in accordance with the law within a stipulated time frame. 5.In view of the above submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.04.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6

6.The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
