ORDER : The Court made the following order : The petitioners, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence under Sections 294(b), 342, 355, 498A, 506(ii) IPC and Section 4 of Prohibition of Women Harassment Act, in Crime No.713 of 2021, seek anticipatory bail.

2. The prosecution case is that the first petitioner harassed his wife / defacto complainant and demanded dowry, at the instigation of his parents / petitioners 2 & 3. Hence, the complaint.

3. Considering the nature of allegation, ie., a matrimonial dispute, this Court has referred the matter to the District Social Welfare Committee, through the respondent police. Today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), on instructions from the District Social Welfare Officer, Madurai, submitted that the parties have compromised the issue and that they have reunited.

4. Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this criminal original petition stands closed, as no further order is required to be passed.

5. This Court places on record its appreciation to the Officer concerned of the Social Welfare Committee for the efforts made by her to settle the issue.
