This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned notification No.01/2025 published on 04.04.2025 issued by the 2nd respondent for direct recruitment for posts of Sub - Inspectors of Police (Taluk and Armed Reserve) - 2025 and seeking consequential direction to the 1st and 2nd respondent to issue the fresh notification or 2/5
addendum for candidates who have passed 10th stand directly without studying 9th standard or passed 12standard directly without studying 11th standard are eligible to apply and permit the petitioners to participate in the selection process for notification No. 01/2025 published on 04.04.2025 for direct recruitment for posts of SubInspectors of Police (Taluk and Armed Reserve) - 2025.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents has placed on record a proceedings of the Additional Chief Secretary to Government dated 24.05.2025 addressed to the Chairman, TamilNadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, Chennai.

A perusal of the said proceedings reveal that all the candidates who have passed 10th Standard directly without studying 9th standard or passed 12th standard directly without studying 11th standard are eligible to apply for the direct recruitments. But, however, they are not eligible for PSTM quota.

In view of the same, the prayer sought for in the present writ petition is now become infructuous, as the petitioners are now eligible to participate in the selection process for direct recruitment for posts of Sub-Inspectors of Police (Taluk and Armed Reserve). Therefore, no further adjudication is required to be made in the present writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition stands closed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
