ORDER

The petitioners/A5 have filed this petition to quash the FIR in Crime No.2340 of 2020 on the file of the first respondent, wherein he is said to have committed the offence under Sections 6(b), 7(5), 20(2), 24(1) of Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act .

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 31.08.2020, the second respondent along with two other police officials have searched the car bearing Registration No.TN-07-Q-7678 and found that the said car was used to transport the banned tobacco products and also it came to know that the said tobacco products were sold near bus stop and educational institution. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that after completion of investigation, final report has been filed and the same was taken on file as S.T.C.No.685 of 2022 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Theni.

4. Recording the same, this Criminal Original Petition stands closed with liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
