Heard Mr.P.Krishnasamy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader for the first respondent.
2. This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus seeking direction against the first respondent to sanction the medical reimbursement amount of Rs.2,63,526/- to the petitioner, based on the petitioner's representation dated 13.10.2023.

Mr.P.Krishnasamy, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner who claims to be the beneficiary of New Health Insurance Scheme had taken treatment for Heart ailment for the period from 20.07.2023 to 29.07.2023 and had spent a sum of Rs.3,98,526/-. The petitioner received a sum of Rs.1,35,000/- from the Insurance 2/5
Company and the balance amount of Rs.2,63,526/- has to be paid to the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation dated 13.10.2023 to the first respondent seeking for payment of remaining amount. Since the petitioner's claim for medical reimbursement has not been considered by the respondents so far, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing this petition.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.10.2023 and pass orders with regard to medical reimbursement of the remaining amount, in accordance with the terms of the scheme. In case, the second respondent thought it fit that the remaining amount of Rs.2,63,526/- is not fit for reimbursement, then the second respondent shall state the reasons and send a copy of the order to the petitioner in order to enable him by preferring an application before the District Level Empowered committee. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. 3/5
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
