[Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] The petitioner is before this Court praying for a direction upon the second respondent to give adequate police protection for conducting Kumbabisegam of a temple stated to be fixed on 07.07.2017.

2.Mr.T.S.Mohammed Mohideen, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

3.According to the petitioner, there is no rival claim or any other dispute in the local village and they seek for consideration of the representation for granting police protection.

4.The request for granting police protection has to be considered by the police authorities, taking note of the local situation and we cannot issue any positive direction in that regard. However, since the representation is pending, we direct the second respondent to take appropriate decision on the said representation within a period of one week from today. 5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
