PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondent 1 and 2 herein to secure the detenue namely Shanmugapriya, D/o.Shanmuganathan aged about 26 years and produce before this Court and set her at liberty. 1/4

ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble The ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE] The petitioner, seeking production of his daughter, namely, Shanmugapriya, aged about 26 years, has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition. 2.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's daughter is working at Chennai National Institute of Wind Energy. The petitioner made arrangements for conducting marriage to his daughter with one Senthilkumar on 25.05.2023 and engagement was also conducted on 10.03.2023. At this time, his daughter found missing on 11.05.2023. Therefore, immediately on the same date, the petitioner lodged a complaint to the 2nd respondent. However, till date, no FIR has been registered. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court. 2/4
3.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that when the detenue was working at Chennai National Institute of Wind Energy, she fell in love with the 3rd respondent and since both of them are majors, a self respect marriage was solemnized between them on 15.05.2023 and they were also issued with marriage certificate. A copy of the same has also been produced before this Court.
4.In view of the above, since the detenue and the 3rd respondent are majors, we are not able to entertain this petition. Accordingly, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands dismissed.
