Respondent PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to revise the allotment made in the Posting Counselling for Service Post Graduates and post the petitioner in the post of Assistant Professor/Tutor in the Department of Pharmacology at Thanjavur Medical College, Thanjavur, in the light of the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.131, Health and Family Welfare (A1) Department, dated 20.11.2007 and proceedings of the respondent, dated 01.02.2017 and 24.05.2017, within the time period stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to revise the allotment made in the Posting Counselling for Service Post Graduates and post the petitioner in the post of Assistant Professor/Tutor in the Department of Pharmacology at Thanjavur Medical College, Thanjavur, in the light of the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.131, Health and Family Welfare (A1) Department, dated 20.11.2007 and proceedings of the respondent, dated 01.02.2017 and 24.05.2017, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 2.Mr.N.S.Karthiekyan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the Writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

3.Heard Mr.S.Rajasekar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.N.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4.Though the Writ petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus to give a positive direction to the respondent, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 13.06.2017 and dispose of the same on merits within a time stipulated by this Court.

5.Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer now sought before this Court by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 13.06.2017, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
