O R D E R

This petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to provide necessary protection to the petitioner during the Chithirai festival from 02.05.2025 to 11.05.2025 at Sri Thiruvayitham Ayyanar Temple, Sri Prasanna Anjineyar Temple, and Sri Samba Siva Murthy Temple situated in Keeranur Village, Manalmelkudi Taluk, Pudukottai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 09.04.2025 within a stipulated time.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is performing the task of goat cutting and poojas in the Page No. 2 of 5

abovesaid temple for the past 15 years. However, last three years, the respondents 4 to 7 obstructed the petitioner to perform the said activities and prevented the petitioner to worship the God. Now, the villagers decided to conduct Chithirai Festival from 02.05.2025 to 11.05.2025, due to which the petitioner gave a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 on 09.04.2025 to provide police protection to the petitioner to worship the God and to perform the task of goat cutting and poojas in the abovesaid temple, but the same has not been considered. Hence, he filed this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that there are two rival groups claiming rights over the temple. However, they will consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders.

5. This Court heard both sides and perused the records.

6. The prayer sought for in this petition is to provide necessary protection to the petitioner during the Chithirai festival from 02.05.2025 to 11.05.2025 by considering the petitioner's representation, dated Page No. 3 of 5

09.04.2025. The second respondent also admitted the receipt of the petitioner's representation and the same is under consideration. Therefore, recording the abovesaid submissions, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 09.04.2025 and pass appropriate orders after affording opportunity to both the parties, in accordance with law within a period of two (2) days from the date of this order.

9. With the above said directions and observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
