ORDER

I have heard Mr.S.Vellaichamy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

The petitioner claims to be a member of the Administrative Committee of the Arulmigu Kottadiyan Temple, which, according to the petitioner, is a community temple belonging to more than 150 persons in the locality, who have been worshipping the deity for over 100 years. The petitioner has sought for patta to be issued in the name of the temple in respect of survey number 301/28. The revenue records also indicate the existence of the temple in survey number 301/28 though the lands are classified as Natham.

3. In view of the above, the third respondent shall consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2024 and 22.04.2025 and pass final orders on the request of the petitioner for issuance of patta in the 2/5

name of the temple. Since the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the representation was not given to the third respondent and hence, he seeks liberty to give a fresh representation to the third respondent.

In the light of the above, the petitioner shall give a fresh representation to the third respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and shall open to the third respondent shall conduct due enquiry and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
