Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 3 to give police protection to women folk of Velmurugan Colony, Sathyavani Colony and Nesavalar Colony situated at Madurai Road, Aruppukkottai, Virudhunagar District. ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the second and third respondents to give police protection to all women folk residing in
Velmurugan, Sathyavani and Nesavalar Colonies, Madurai Road, Aruppukkottai, Virudhunagar District, by way of issuing a Writ of Mandamus.
2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents 1 to 3. No representation on the side of the fourth respondent.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has contended to the effect that already a TASMAC shop has been established and subsequently closed and due to that the respondents 5 and 6 are scolding women folk, who are living in the colonies mentioned in the petition. Under the said circumstances, for the purpose of giving police protection, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 has contended that already a TASMAC shop has been established and subsequently closed. Now the petitioner has unnecessarily created as if the respondents 5 and 6 everyday are scolding the women folk, who are living in the colonies mentioned in the petition and therefore the relief sought in the Writ Petition cannot be granted.
5.As mentioned supra, the present Writ Petition has been filed so as to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to give police protection to the women folk, who are living in the colonies mentioned in the petition, by way of saying that the respondents 5 and 6 are scolding them everyday.
6.Considering the nature of the relief sought in the Writ Petition, the same cannot be granted and further there is no base for coming to a conclusion that the respondents 5 and 6 are scolding the women folk everyday and therefore the present Writ Petition deserves to be dismissed.
