PRAYER:Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st and 3rd respondents herein to conduct Pudukottai Bar Association Election to be conducted strictly according to the norms fixed by Bar Council of Tamilnadu like proper electoral rolls and as per valid Bye law of the Association, since the elected body period is over, an retired District Judge to be appointed as election 1/5

observer for the entire election process and further seeking direction directing the respondents to conduct the election of Pudukottai Bar Association, with in prescribed time as fixed by this Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J.NISHA BANU, J.) This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 3 to conduct Pudukottai Bar Association election strictly in accordance with the norms fixed by the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu. 2.This Court, during the earlier date of hearing on 07.03.2025, had appointed an Election Observer to observe the election of Pudukottai Bar Association so as to ascertain that the election is conducted in accordance with the bye-law of the association.

3.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the Election Observer had filed a report stating that the election has been conducted in a peaceful 2/5

manner and all the eligible members were allowed to caste their votes without any complaint.

4.In view of the above, nothing remains to be further considered in this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed. 5.At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the members of the Pudukottai Bar Association are also the members of one another association and the same shall be directed to be rectified. Further, the registration of the Association also got expired. 6.In view of the above, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the authorities concerned seeking renewal of the registration of the Association and also to rectify the mistakes in the members list. If such application submitted, the same shall be considered and disposed of as expeditiously as possible. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (J.N.B.,J.)
