[Order of the Court was made T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Heard Mr.G.Anbu Saravanan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.T.S.Mohammed Mohaideen, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

2. The petitioner seeks for direction to the respondent to consider his representation and grant permission for conducting the temple festival. The representation is still pending with the respondent. In our view, it is the respondent, who is the competent person to consider the local situation and the law and order issues and take a decision in the matter and we cannot issue a positive direction.

3. However, the respondent is directed to consider the representation and pass order on merits and in accordance with law well before the date of the festival.

4.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
