PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to provide electricity connection to the petitioner's house situate in S.F.No. 448/2 of Rameswaram, Ramanathapuram District, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 28.07.2021 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondent to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner by considering the representation dated 28.07.2021.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent based on the written instructions, submitted that the petitioner has to make an online application and the same will be considered.

3. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, if the electricity service connection has not already been provided to the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to make a fresh online application to the respondent and the respondent shall deal with the same and take immediate steps within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of the online application from the petitioner. 2/4

4. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
