ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to grant widow pension to the petitioner based on her representation dated 02.06.2017.

2. Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. According to the petitioner, her husband Singaperumal died on 16.01.2017 in a road accident. Since the petitioner lost her only breadwinner and has no means for survival, made an application to the second respondent for grant of pension on 02.06.2017. There is no progress. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

4. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader would submit that a widow is entitled for pension as per G.O.Ms.No.507 Finance Department dated 27.05.1975 subject to some conditions. If the petitioner fulfills all the conditions, the second respondent is ready to consider the application of the petitioner.

5. In the light of the above fact, the petitioner is directed to furnish all the documents required by the second respondent and on such production, the second respondent shall pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 8 weeks therefrom.

6. With the above direction, this Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
