ORDER

This Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent Police to provide protection to the petitioner and her family members.

2.The case of the petitioner is that her husband developed an extra marital affair with another lady, that was questioned by the petitioner, the petitioner's husband and other accused persons indulged in violence and attacked her wife with wooden log. As a result of which, her left foot and arm were broken and fractured. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

The petitioner is living with three children. The petitioner apprehends that there is a potential life threat to her and her children. A complaint was given to the respondent Police and the petitioner has sought for police protection.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents 1 to 3 on instructions would submit that an FIR was registered by the second respondent in Crime No.200 of 2018 for an alleged offences under Sections 294, 320, 342 and 506 I.P.C against the accused persons.

4.In view of this development, the respondent Police are directed to immediately start the investigation and file a final report as expeditiously as possible. In the meantime, if the threat perception of the petitioner continues, the second respondent shall provide police protection to the petitioner and her children.

5.The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
