ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the first and second respondents herein to provide adequate Police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family members to enjoy the property comprised in the Lok Adalat Award, Madurai District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 13.06.2022.

2. The facts of the case are that there was a dispute over the property between the petitioner and the third respondent. While being so, the Highway authority had acquired their lands by way of land acquisition for Four Way and awarded a compensation of Rs.31,54,198/- to the father of the petitioner and the fourth respondent. Both the father of the petitioner and the third respondent settled their disputes by executing an agreement in Lok Adalat. As such, both the father of the petitioner and the third respondent agreed with the terms and conditions prescribed in Lok Adalat agreement and the compensation is contributed to the accounts of both the fathers. Being the father of the petitioner, he executed a will in favour of the petitioner. Under such 2/5

circumstances, the third respondent along with his father forged the signature of the petitioner's father and embezzled the petitioner's father money.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner filed Crl.O.P.(MD).No.1033 of 2022 and this Court vide order dated 21.01.2022 allowed the petitioner by directing the first respondent therein to file the final report within a period of three months. The third respondent and his henchmen keep on threatening the petitioner in various manner. In this regard, the petitioner preferred a detailed representation dated 13.06.2022 seeking for Police protection. Since no action was taken, the present Criminal Original Petition is filed.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent Police submitted that they have received the representation and now they are ready to consider.

5. Recording the same, this Court directs the second respondent Police to provide sufficient protection by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.06.2022 and take suitable action on merits within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
