ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/accused No.3, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C) of NDPS Act in Crime No.382 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 22.09.2022, the respondent police conducted a raid along with his police party at Anna Nagar Colony, Mamarathupatti, Usilampatti, at that time, while Accused Nos.1 and 2 were walking, the respondent police stopped them and they were intercepted and carrying three bags containing 21.700 kgs of Ganja. Hence, the complaint.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4.Perused the materials available on record including the First Information Report.

5.It is seen that there are totally three accused, in which, the petitioner is arraigned as Accused No.3. Though the recovery was made from Accused Nos.1 and 2, based on the confession statement of Accused No.1, the petitioner has been implicated in this case. That apart, the petitioner was involved in two previous cases. Therefore, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required in this case. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
