PRAYER:Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to place the name of the petitioner in the rank list for B.E/B.Tech Admission 2017.

O R D E R

This writ petition is filed seeking for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to place the name of the petitioner in the rank list for B.E/B.Tech Admission 2017. 2.The petitioner would state that she successively completed her Higher Secondary Course in the present academic year and she secured 192.5. She downloaded the application for admission to B.E/B.Tech courses on 22.05.2017, after paying the requisite fee of Rs.500/-. The petitioner would further state that on 26.05.2017 she sent her application through Motherland courier. But, it did not reach the respondent on or before 03.06.2017. Hence, the petitioner sent a representation on 03.07.2017 to permit the petitioner to participate in the counselling. Since no action was taken, the present writ petition is filed.

3. After some arguments, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner.

4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

5.In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 03.07.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
