O R D E R
This petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the second respondent to give police protection to conduct the Temple festival of Arulmigu Shri Kaliyamman, Shri Muthalamman, Shri Bhagavathiyamman, Shri Vinayagar Temple situated at Ethilampatti, Kalvarpatti Village, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District from 01.06.2025 to 03.06.2025 and from the third respondent on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 24.04.2025.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is residing in the village and the villagers decided to conduct temple festival from 01.06.2025 to 03.06.2025. Hence, they sent a representation to the respondents 1 and 2 on 24.04.2025 through post, seeking police protection during the festival, but the same has not been considered. Therefore, he filed this petition. Further, the petitioner undertakes to conduct the temple festival without any law and order issue. Page No. 2 of 5
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents would submit that they received the representation of the petitioner for police protection. There are two rival groups claiming rights over the temple, due to which in an earlier occasion, Peace Committee Meeting was held on 18.05.2023. Now, if permission is granted to conduct festival, there is a chance to law and order issue. If the parties are ready to conduct the festival together, they will grant permission.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner, by way of reply, would submit that the petitioner undertakes to conduct the temple festival without any law and order issue together with the other community people.

This Court heard both sides and perused the records. 6.According to the petitioner, he sent a representation to the respondents to grant permission to conduct festival and to provide police protection, but the same has not been considered. According to the respondents, if permission is granted, there is a possibility of law and order issue. The petitioner also agrees to conduct the festival together with Page No. 3 of 5
the other community people. While so, the permission from the police is not required and right to worship is available to every individual as per Article 25 of Constitution of India. Hence, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.04.2025 and provide adequate police protection in accordance with law.
7. With the above said directions and observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
