O R D E R
This petition is filed by the petitioner to quash the impugned order dated 22.04.2025 passed by the third respondent in MLR. No. 5/SI/KPR/PS/MDU/2025 and consequently, direct the respondents herein to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting Kabadi Tournament near Nayara Petrol Bunk, Varichur Village, Madurai District from 24.05.2025 to 25.05.2025 on account of Viduthalai Chiruthaigai Katchi political recognization success meet,

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the District Assistant Organizer of Social Media Wing of a political party and they decided to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 24.05.2025 and 25.05.2025 in the private land near Nayara Petrol Bulk, Varichiyur. Therefore, he sent a representation to the third respondent on Page No. 2 of 5
22.04.2025 and the same was declined by citing law and order issue. Now, the petitioner undertakes to conduct Kabadi Tournament without any law and order issue and the third respondent cannot deny to grant permission only based on the law and order issue. Therefore, the order passed by the third respondent is liable to be set aside.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents would submit that they received the representation of the petitioner for conducing Adal Padal programme on 22.04.2025 and on the same date by citing law and order issue, the representation was rejected. Therefore, the order passed by the third respondent is in order and the present petition is liable to be dismissed.
4. This Court heard both sides and perused the records.
5. Since Kabadi tournament is one of the sport events, the third respondent cannot decline to grant permission on the ground of law and order issue. Further, the petitioner also undertakes to conduct the Kabadi Tournament without any law and order issue. Hence, the order passed by the third respondent in MLR. No.5/SI/KPR/PS/MDU/2025, dated Page No. 3 of 5
22.04.2025, is set aside. Further, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and to grant permission by imposing appropriate conditions for conducting Kabadi Tournament to the petitioner.
6. With the abovesaid observations and directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
