O R D E R

The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.01.2017 for issuance of patta ad measuring to an extent of 1.05.5 ares in S.F.No.70/1, Kusavapatti Village, Viradhanur Firca, Madurai South Taluk. 2.The case of the petitioner is that the Petitioner is an agriculturist and he has been in possession and enjoyment of the land to an extent of 1.05.5 ares for more than 15 years without any interruption by the third party. Hence, he submitted an application for assignment of land by his representation dated 20.05.2005. Since there was no progress, the petitioner preferred another representation dated 19.01.2017 to the Land Commissioner, Chennai and copy of the same sent to the respondents. Since no favourable order was passed, the present writ petition is filed. 3.Heard Mr.V.P.Rajan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

4.Considering the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court, without going in to the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.04.2017, after providing an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as the other parties concerned, if any and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
