PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent and his subordinates to grant Natham patta for survey No.1886/5 situated in Ward -1, Main Road Devadanapatti village, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District. ORDER

The petitioner states that her late husband purchased a small extent of 85 sq.ft, in S.No.1886/5 under registered sale deed bearing document No.2067 of 1997. After repeated request for patta, including by representation dated 13.03.2025, the present writ petition has been filed. 2.Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that S.No.1886/5 is classified as "Grama Natham" in the "A" Register and not as a water body/oorani.

3.Learned Government Advocate has placed on record a copy of the "A" Register. He submits that the petitioner's land would be surveyed to ascertain whether it is falling within S.No.1886/5 or S.No.1886/6. If it falls within S.No. 1886/5, he submits that the request for patta would be considered. 4.In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2025 on merits within 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the 2/4
