PRAYER:Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent herein to consider petitioner's representation dated 06.04.2017, in respect of issuance of house tax in the petitioner name.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 06.04.2017, in respect of issuance of house tax in the petitioner's name. 2.Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, this Writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioner, the property in Survey No.43/1 situated at Alathur Village, Madurai District, originally belongs to her father-in-law, namely, Periyandi Moopaanar. He executed a settlement deed in favour of his son, namely, Malaisamy, who in turn excuted a settlement in favour of the petitioner. As such, she became owner of the property.

4.The petitioner would state that she is entitled to have all rights in respect of the property and therefore, she applied to the respondent for issuance of house tax in her name and thereafter, sent a representation dated 06.04.2017. Since there was no action was taken, the present writ petition is filed. 5.Heard Mr.G.Ganesh Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

6.Considering limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court, without expressing any view on the merits and contention raised by the petitioner, directs the respondent to consider petitioner's representation, dated 06.03.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as interested parties, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
