ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking for a direction to direct the first respondent to depute the another Police officer to conduct enquiry and subsequent process other that the second respondent/the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Usilampatti, Madurai District in connection with CSR Number 18/2022 on the file of the second respondent under the supervision of the first respondent for effective enquiry in accordance with law and to file the report as against the offenders forthwith before the Court concerned.

2. The facts of the case are that due to matrimonial dispute, a complaint has been preferred by the petitioner against her husband and his family members. Thereafter, C.S.R.No.18 of 2022 dated 19.01.2022 was also issued to that effect. In the meantime, the petitioner's husband filed Crl.O.P.(MD).No.1505 of 2022 seeking for Anticipatory Bail and this Court vide order dated 28.01.2022 disposed of the case by directing the respondent Police therein to refer the matter to the Social Welfare Officer and then to 2/4

proceed. But till date, no action was taken. Aggrieved over the same, the present petition has been filed.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the second respondent sent a letter dated 28.02.2022 to the Social Welfare Officer, Madurai to conduct enquiry and submits a report, which was acknowledged by the Social Welfare Officer. Subsequently, on 29.06.2022, a reminder was also sent to the Social Welfare Officer for submitting the report.

4. Recording the same, the Inspector of Police/the second respondent herein is hereby directed to get the report from the Social Welfare Officer as early as possible, enquire the matter and complete the enquiry within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
