The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to grant patta in petitioner's name by considering her representation dated 19.05.2017.
2.Mr.G.Muthukannan, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondent. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioner, land measuring to an extent of 171⁄2 cents (0.07.0 Ares) in New Survey No.224/6, punja land No.35 Melpuram, covered under patta No.229 in Pilavididhi revenue village,Karambakudi Taluk was orginally owned by her mother Vellayammal. After her demise, on 20.12.1998, the petitioner derived title over land. As such she has been enjoying the property.
4.The petitioner would allege that while conducting survey, the name of one Kutty, S/o Chinnan, was wrongly entered in the revenue records in respect of her property. According to the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner, the said Kutty has no right over this property. Hence, she approached the respondent seeking to rectify the said mistake. Since no action was taken, the petitioner finally send a representation dated 19.05.2017 to the respondent. Even thereafter, no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.
5.Heard Mr.Jameel Arasu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Muthukannan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
6.Considering limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court, without expressing any view on the merits and contention raised by the petitioner, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.05.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as interested parties, if any, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
