Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to take necessary action based on petitioner's representation dated 15.02.2017 to prevent the overloading of passengers in the Auto, Tata Magic and other private transport vehicles in Ramanathapuram District within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) This writ petition has been filed for directing the respondents to take necessary action to prevent over loading of passengers in Share Autos and other private transport vehicles in Ramanathapuram District.

2.When the matter was taken up for disposal, the learned Special Government Pleader filed a copy of the action taken report. A mere perusal of the said report would show the number of cases registered by the respondents from March 2016 onwards. 3.We place on record the said report. We direct the third respondent to continue to monitor the situation. Whenever instances of over loading of persons in auto rickshaws and other private transport vehicles occur, prompt action must be taken by the authorities concerned. This has to be necessarily an ongoing process.

4.The writ is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
