ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to remove the petitioner's name from the History Sheet list, by considering his representation dated 18.04.2024.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that after 2021, the petitioner has not involved in any other offence. However, the History Sheet opened against the petitioner in the year 2021 is still pending without any progress for the past three years. In this regard, the petitioner has also made his representation dated 18.04.2024 and the same has not been considered by the respondent Police. Hence, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
3. As per the decision of this Court in W.P.(MD)No.21040 of 2018, etc. (batch cases), dated 03.07.2020, the history sheet should not 2/4
be maintained for more than two years. In this case, the history sheet opened against the petitioner in the year 2021 is still pending. According to the petitioner, he has not involved in any other case after the year 2021.
4. Therefore, the respondents Police are directed to review the history sheet opened against the petitioner and to take a decision in the next review meeting.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 11.07.2024 ogy NCC : Yes / No.
