ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner having given a representation for issuance of patta as early as on 22.01.2024 and having renewed the request by subsequent application dated 06.01.2025, seeks issue of writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to issue patta in respect of 8 1⁄2 cents comprised in survey No.108/5A1A, situated at Velliyankundram Village, Madurai East, Madurai.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner has sought for issuance of patta, based on a registered sale deed in his favour. The said application was lodged way back in January 2024. In the light of the above, direction is issued to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application on merits and accordance with law, after affording a fair opportunity to the petitioner and pass final orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
