Respondents Prayer:Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 herein to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 03.06.2017 seeking to celebrate the temple festival namely Shri Mariamman Shri Kaliamman temple situated at Vaivespuram Nagayakottai Post Dindigul Distict by conducting the peace committee meeting within at time frame fixed by this Honble Court. O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 herein to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 03.06.2017 seeking to celebrate the temple festival namely Shri Mariamman Shri Kaliamman temple situated at Vaivespuram Nagayakottai Post Dindigul Distict by conducting the peace committee meeting.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has made a representation dated 03.06.2017 to the respondents 1 and 2 seeking permission to celebrate the temple festival as desired by the villagers and since no order has been passed on his representation, he is before this Court with the above prayer.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the 3rd respondent to conduct a Peace Committee on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner dated 03.06.2017, after issuing due notice to the petitioner, the respondents and also interested parties, if any, and in the event of both the parties arriving at an amicable settlement in the meeting, pass necessary orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
