PRAYER :- To enlarge the petitioner on bail in connection with S.C.No.58 of 2018 in Crime No.927 of 2017 on the file of V Additional District and Sessions Judge, Madurai. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A.1, who is facing a trial for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 302 and 506(2) IPC in S.C.No.58 of 2018, on the file of the learned V Additional District and Sessions Judge, Madurai, in Crime No.927 of 2017, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. Originally the petitioner was granted bail in Crime No.927 of 2017. Subsequently he did not appear before the trial Court in S.C. No.58 of 2018, as such Non Bailable Warrant was issued on 19.01.2021. Thereafter the petitioner was arrested and remanded to judicial custody for the offences under sections 147, 148, 302 and 506(2) IPC. Thereafter he was detained under Act 14 of 1982 and subsequently the said detention order was quashed by this Court on 08.02.2023 in HCP(MD) No.1761 of 2022, therefore, the petitioner sought for bail.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner is a habitual offender and he involved in 11 previous cases. He would further submit that the petitioner, after coming out on bail, has involved in two other cases within Chennai jurisdiction and in pursuant to the said crime, he was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 23.04.2022.

4. Considering the above facts and circumstances and also the bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. However, the trial Court is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
