ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A4, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 IPC, in Crime No.340 of 2021, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the accused persons were running chit fund and collected a sum of Rs.7 Crores from the 37 victims and thereafter, failed to return the amount. Hence, the complaint.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner stating that all the accused persons collected https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 1/2

CRL OP(MD)No.9193 of 2023 huge amount from the general public by giving false promise of returns and thereafter, cheated them.

5.It is seen that the petitioner and other accused have collected huge amount from the general public and thereafter, cheated them. As of now, no one was arrested in this case. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed.
