Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2017 (forwarded to the 2nd respondent on 28.04.2017) in the light of G.O.Ms.No.753 dated 18.07.1985 and consider the petitioner's request for seniority to the post of B.T. Assistant (History) from 01.01.2002 without monetary benefits within time stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner has come up with this writ petition seeking a direction, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2017 (forwarded to the 2nd respondent on 28.04.2017) in the light of G.O.Ms.No.753 dated 18.07.1985 and also consider the petitioner's request for seniority to the post of B.T. Assistant (History) from 01.01.2002 without monetary benefits within the stipulated time. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 2.Heard Mr.V.Peurmal, learned counsel appearing for the

petitioner and Mr.Raja Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.By consent of both sides, this writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4.The petitioner is serving as Secondary Grade Teacher and he claims to possess the requisite qualification for promotion to the post of B.T. Assistant, as per G.O.Ms.No.753 dated 16.07.1985. Therefore, the petitioner has given a representation dated 10.04.2017 to the respondents. But, till date no order has been passed, in this regard. Hence, the present writ petition is filed. 5.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in this petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
