This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the first Respondent to disburse the retirement benefits of petitioner's husband namely Arockiasamy on the basis of her representation dated 30.05.2016 and also in the light of recommendation made by the second respondent in his proceedings dated 02.01.2017.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The case of the petitioner is that she has made a representation dated 30.05.2016 to the second respondent, requesting him for payment of all retirement benefits, payable to her husband namely, Arockiasamy and also seeking for appointment to her elder son namely, Kennedy on compassionate ground. Even though her representation was forwarded to the first respondent, who is the competent authority to take a decision in this matter, till date, no action has been taken thereon. Hence, the present writ petition.

4. Under such circumstances, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 30.05.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of on the above terms. No costs.
