ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent Police to give Police protection to conduct Puravi Edapu in temple situated at Sree Kaveri Ayyanar Kovil, Alagunatchiamman Temple and Pandi Vinayagar Temple in V.Karisalkulam Village from 18.09.2018 to 25.09.2018.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that every year in the Tamil month of Puratasi, the above said festival are celebrated by the villagers. He further submitted that the villagers have arranged for Puravi Edapu in the said Temple from 18.09.2018 to 25.09.2018, for which they require police protection in order to avoid any law and order problem.
3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondent Police is willing to grant permission and provide police protection to the petitioner, by imposing certain conditions.

4.In this regard, the petitioner has already made a representation dated 17.08.2018 to the respondents. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation dated 17.08.2018 and provide police protection for the Puravi Edapu which is to be held from 18.09.2018 to 25.09.2018. It is open to the respondent Police to impose any conditions in order to ensure that the festival is conducted in a peaceful manner without giving raise to any law and order problem and the petitioner is bound to comply with the conditions.
5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
