ORDER

Mr.A.Jayaram, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner has come to this Court seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to promote him to the post of Deputy Manager with effect from 30.11.2016 i.e. from the date of passing B.E. Degree qualification. 3.The petitioner joined the services of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Madurai - IV) Ltd., Dindigul, with Cumbum Branch, on 25.07.1988. Thereafter, his services were regularised on 25.07.1990. After sometime, he was transferred from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Madurai-IV) Ltd., Dindigul to the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Madurai-I) Ltd., Madurai, on 20.06.2001.

4.Now, the petitioner has put in 29 years of service. In the meanwhile, the petitioner has also completed his B.E. Mechanical Engineering, but, he has not been given promotion to the post of Deputy Manager. Therefore, he has given a representation, dated 22.04.2017 and the same has not been considered till date by the respondent. 5.Mr.A.Jayaram, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 22.04.2017, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
