This writ petition has been filed, seeking to direct the respondent to refund the deposit amount of a sum of Rs.6,39,204/- with interest at 12% P.A., based on the petitioner's representation dated 14.02.2017.

2. Heard the learned Counsel on either side.

3. The Petitioner is a registered contractor in Vilangudi Town Panchayat, which now got merged with the respondent Corporation. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has paid caution deposit before Vilangudi Town Panchayat, in respect of various works done by him. According to the petitioner, he has completed more than 76 works and the respective caution deposit amount is lying in the respondent Corporation, which comes to a sum of RS.6,39,204/-. Hence, he made a representation to the respondent, dated 14.02.2017 and since the same was not considered by the respondent, the petitioner is before this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Under such circumstances, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's matter claim, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 14.02.2017 and pass appropriate orders with regard to refund of the deposited amount, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
