PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to instruct the 3rd to 5th respondents to take necessary and immediate steps to remove the encroachment made by the respondents 6 to 16 in the Government Water Body of irrigation tank comprised in Survey Nos.220 and 221 Devipattinam Village, Ramanathapuram Taluk and District, immediately and to direct the 2nd respondent to provide necessary police protection at the time of removal of encroachment based on the representation of the petitioner dated 05.05.2017.

[Order of the Court was made by K.K.SASIDHARAN, J.] The petitioner filed the writ petition to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to remove the encroachment stated to have been made by the respondents 6 to 16.
2.The status report dated 09.08.2017 submitted by the Tahsildar Ramanathapuram, indicates that the encroachment in question has already been removed.
3.In view of the status report filed by the Tashildar, Ramanathapuram, nothing survives for further adjudication. 4.The writ petition is disposed of with the above observation. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
